Shires Bakery began as a small bakery in Owen Sound, focusing mainly on pastries and doughnuts. It was later relocated to Hamilton and purchased by new owners. As Tim Hortons and other competitors entered and over saturated the doughnut market, Shires decided to pivot to cookies. Utilizing the original grandfathered recipe, we released our delectable homemade style cookies. Soft, chewy, and irresistibly delicious! It was a great success, and we were able to expand into vending, gas stations, convenience stores, cash and carry’s and later, schools. Keeping the health-conscious customer in mind, Shires also offers a “healthier choice” line of cookies in addition to their original recipe. Proudly BRCGS-accredited and 100% peanut and tree nut-free, we deliver peace of mind alongside every sweet craving.
 

Jason and Larry purchased Shires Bakery in late 2019 and are continuing the already established reputable brand with a quality product for a great price. Keeping everything from the recipes to facility the same, they're looking to build on Shires existing success, while further expanding the company to make Shires cookies the top choice for  all our customers. With an extensive background in management, streamlining, branding, marketing and an entrepreneurial mindset, Jason and Larry are ready to take Shires to the next level.
